Customer Focused Disability Awareness & Equality Training

This disability awareness & equality training programme gives a comprehensive overview of disability through an interactive and informative delivery. This programme is aimed at front facing staff who engage members of the public in their daily duties.

The programme aims to address myths and misconceptions that employers and employees may have around disability while enhancing knowledge of Ireland’s most diverse group through effective service provision.

Topics covered include:

• Disability statistics
• Diversity within disability
• Myths and assumptions about disability
• Disability etiquette in service provision
• Barriers to inclusion in service provision
• Discrimination and bias towards customers with disabilities
• Reasonable accommodation & key points in service provision

On completion of this disability awareness training programme participants will have a greater awareness of effective service provision for customers, service users and members of the public who have disabilities.

Delivery of this programme is onsite or online and includes group work (onsite only), interactive tasks, Q&A’s and video sharing.

Private sector organisations will receive up to 90% grant funding to complete this training. This rebate now also applies to community based, not for profit and voluntary sector groups.
