Ability Focus is a specialised disability employment consultancy drawing upon fifteen years' experience in the recruitment and supported employment sectors. It was established with a view to addressing the knowledge gap around disability employment which currently exists in Ireland.
We offer a contemporary approach to disability awareness, delivering Ireland's only Live Online Disability Awareness Training Programme which has received professional body endorsement.
We offer training, support and advice for businesses around all aspects of disability employment. This includes reasonable accommodations, effective communication, anti-discrimination practices, assistive technologies, relevant legislation and work from home supports. We also support organisations with change management in times of enforced closure, extended absence and return to work procedures.

Stephen is the Managing Director of Ability Focus and an experienced Disability Employment Specialist, drawing on over fifteen years' experience in the recruitment and supported employment sectors.
On graduating from university in 2004, Stephen initially worked as a legal recruiter for two of Dublin's leading recruitment agencies. In 2008 he switched careers and started working with EmployAbility Service, Ireland's national supported employment provider for people with disabilities. Stephen worked in both the Kerry and Dublin North office as Disability Employment Facilitator and Company Coordinator. Most recently he has worked with North Leinster Citizen's Information Service as Development Manager. Here he was responsible for the development of information provision on public and social services, as well as advocacy case management with an emphasis on rights and entitlements of citizens.
Stephen's experience as a legal recruiter, development manager and supported employment specialist ensure he has a skill set unique to Dublin. His experience in the private and public sector combined with his awareness of the disability knowledge gap was the driving force behind setting up Ability Focus.
Stephen has a BA. Degree in Law & Economics and an LL.B. Postgraduate Degree in Law from NUI Galway. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations & Event Management from The Fitzwilliam Institute and has a QQI Level 6 qualification in Disability Awareness. He is a QQI Certified Trainer and is a registered member of the Irish Institute of Training & Development (IITD).
