Ability Focus are delighted to announce our partnership with the National Recruitment Federation to deliver Live Online Disability Awareness Training to their members through their National Recruitment Federation Skillnet Network.
Founded in 1970, The National Recruitment Federation is the representative body tasked with providing support, communication, advice sharing, lobbying and promoting overall professional competence within the industry. A core aspect to the service is providing various educational offerings to their members to ensure continuous development of members' skillsets. This educational offering now includes disability awareness training.
This is the first-time disability awareness training has been offered to Recruitment Consultants in Ireland and marks an important step by such an influential organisation in recognising the importance of greater awareness of disability for the recruitment industry.
This Live Online Disability Awareness Training Programme has been tailored specifically for recruiters and focuses on the diversity within disability, legislation relating to disability, discrimination, myths and assumptions, the importance of Reasonable Accommodation and respectful communication.
It is especially important for this training programme that a focus is placed on legislation and reasonable accommodation. Recruiters who meet and assess individual's suitability for roles must always factor in reasonable accommodation when meeting candidates with a disability.
There are well over 640,000 people in Ireland living with a disability. That's 1 job seeker in 7. Recruitment consultants who complete disability awareness training will not only be more inclined to offer greater employment opportunity to candidates with a disability, they will also be delivering a broad base of qualified candidates from a largely untapped talent pool to their clients.
Recruitment consultants are an invaluable asset in creating employment opportunity. Completion of this training will help forge a mindset which ensures equitable opportunity for all.
